ABOUT JEAN WIJESEKERA

"Art for me is a God sent blessing to transcend into a different place" I was born in Colombo, Sri Lanka 1966, and my profession was in the corporate financial sector until I discovered my passion for painting accidentally.

 

As a kid, I was always interested in landscaping and interior designing.Having realised my passion for painting, I am ever so grateful for this sudden discovery of God-given opportunity even at a later stage of my life.

 

I draw inspiration mostly from nature and try to put it in an abstract way into my paintings in my own way. I have been painting for over 10 years and mostly use texture mediums and acrylic on canvas. Someone wanting to hang one of my paintings in their homes and admire them is my biggest achievement.
